Spend a Day with Camp Wyandot – 10th Annual Luncheon!
August 28, 2014A Memorable Alumni Weekend
August 28, 2014We had a fantastic summer camp season at both our overnight camp in the Hocking Hills and our day camp at Highbanks Metro Park with huge increases in campers due to some hard work, referral by happy campers, and strategic marketing!
Let’s start with our Day Camp at Highbanks Metro Park. We have been at their Dragonfly Day Camp for the past 8 years or so and saw 42% increase in camper weeks (398) over last year (280). Our overnight camp at Camp Wyandot was also hugely successful this year. We saw a 47% increase in campers over last year with 489 campers.
We heavily marketed our campership program which saw a 100% increase in applicants and recipients which were funded by the Sally McAlister Campership Fund, The Columbus Foundation, and our generous Alumni. We also fostered a new partnership with the Neighborhood House, a settlement house on the East side of Columbus, and continued our partnerships with Gladden House in Franklinton, and the Clintonville Community Resource Center. With that, we sent nearly 100 youth to camp this summer through camperships and grants.
We are excited about what we have been able to accomplish this year and we have a bright future moving forward. So you should feel very confident about where the organization is.
We couldn’t have done it without our dedicated year-round and seasonal staff, competent Camp Directors, hardworking volunteers, and diligent Board of Directors. Thank you to everyone for your continued support of Camp Wyandot, Inc.!
