Camp Wyandot has always operated a financial assistance program for families who qualify. Parents apply for assistance, and applications are based upon financial need and our available funds. The funds come from The Columbus Foundation, our own caring donors, our flower sale, and other fundraising efforts.
This year, Camp Wyandot camp registrations are filling much faster than usual. Our camperships deadline was April 15. However, This year that may be too late to have openings for campership applicants.
To avoid this, we are now asking those who are applying for a campership to submit their application by April 1st. You will be notified of acceptance status, and the amount awarded by April 15. To apply, request a form by emailing info@campwyandot.org

Avis Dorn was one of my Mom’s best friends from Central High School. They grew up during the depression, watched loved ones go off to WWII and survived the tough lean years to prosper. Theirs was a happy and healthy generation that gave cheerfully, volunteered, donated, lived, loved and laughed. My Mom (Kathleen Steele) was a bluebird leader and I attended Camp Wyandot for several years. I have a place in the North Carolina Mountains near the Cherokee Indians at the site of the beginning of the journey of the Trail of Tears. My love of Indian Lore was fostered at Camp Wyandot. God Bless those that walked before us…WOHELO!
Thanks for remembering your friend. You might want to join the Camp Wyandot alumni group on facebook, and post this there. You might find some old friends in the group!
