Camp Fire USA Central Ohio Council celebrates 100 years of “Reuniting Children and Nature”!

The “Building More Than Campfires” Centennial Luncheon was a huge success. Thanks to all the volunteers that worked so hard to make it happen. We had over 260 in attendance and raised $50,000.

It was so wonderful to have so many of our alumni back with us for this event. The council has worked hard over the past year to find and connect with our alumni. Many people were there enjoying the luncheon with friends they had not seen in years. We took a journey down memory lane to commemorate Camp Fire’s centennial year, reliving many memories from the club program, Camp Otonwe and Camp Wyandot. While remembering the past is wonderful, we must also look to the future. The investment that was made that day from our alumni and friends is a testament to the good work that the Central Ohio Council does for the children and families in our community.

Our goal is 100 new campers to both Camp Otonwe and Camp Wyandot this summer. Please think about a child, who would benefit from the camp experience and recommend Camp Fire to a friend. Please remember that Camp Fire USA is coed and half of the children that we serve are boys.  Take a child by the hand and lead them to Camp Fire. Remember the Torch Bearer’s Desire… that light which has been given to me I desire to pass undimmed to others.  WoHeLo.
