Seasonal Resident Camp Director
The Camp Wyandot Resident Camp Director is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the resident camp. Works with the Executive Director to assure all aspects of camp are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and certification requirements at all times
–Assures all personnel are appropriately qualified and trained and hold education and certifications required for their positions
–Assures all camp operations are in compliance with ACA and CWI policies and procedures
–Design, deliver, and evaluate camp program that meets the needs and interests of the camps target populations and ensure their
delivery in a safe and quality manner.
–Oversee the daily operation of the summer resident camp including food service, program, business, camper and staff supervision, and
health care.
–Works with the Executive Director on budgeting and programming to assure camp provides a top-quality experience for campers
and remains within budget.
Qualifications:
–Bachelor degree in education, child development, social work or other appropriate field prefered; Associate degree in appropriate field with at least two years of experience working in a resident camp is acceptable.
–At least two years’ experience in program administration and personnel supervision is required.
–Proficient with email, Word and Excel
–Ability to communicate and work with participating groups and provide necessary training and instructions to staff and volunteers
–Have the physical ability to perform all necessary functions, and respond appropriately to situations requiring first-aid.
Special Requirements: The Resident Camp Director is required to live on-site at camp in a cabin provided by CWI during the period that camp is in session. The Director works 8 hours a week February to May and is on-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week during the resident camp season (typically June to mid- August). Salary $ 8500 to 9500.
