Welcome to Camp!
June 18, 2024Plein Air Watercolor Workshop for Adults!
June 18, 2024Our first week at Camp Wyandot, and our second week at Otonwe Day Camp, present the challenge of Ohio’s mid-June heat wave. With temperatures in the mid-90’s, staff and their campers must manage to stay cool.
Fortunately, Camp Wyandot is a glacial remnant – hills and Hemlock trees that were brought from Canada during the most recent of the great glaciers that crossed North America. As a result, Camp Wyandot has areas that are cooler than what we experience elsewhere. The term we love to hear at these times is “cool microclimate” which we can take advantage of in those areas of camp that are cool, green, and shady.
