Upcoming Events
April 16, 2013The passing of Mary Lou Beery
May 16, 2013Along with some organizational changes, we have a few staff changes as well.
After 40 years between Camp Otonwe and Camp Wyandot, Chuck Woodrum has retired from his job as caretaker. You may remember his retirement a couple of years ago, but he ended up staying on and officially retired at the end of March. We are sad to see him go after all the time and energy he put into camp but we know he won’t be far! Having only moved a few miles down the road from Camp Wyandot, he will be helping our new Facilities Manager during the transition. I have hired RJ Weider. He has a background in Forestry and Wildlife and maintenance experience. He has big shoes to fill but I am confident given time, he will be a great addition to Camp Wyandot.
Lisa Graham has worked at the office for over 6 years in a couple different roles. She has a long history with Camp Fire and she will be greatly missed! She made my transition into the organization much easier and is a wealth of knowledge. She has made the decision that she wants to work full-time and is ready for a change. Again, just as Chuck will still be around, Lisa will stay involved in the Club programs and Day Camp. Her last day will be May 5 so if you have a chance, drop her a line and let her know how much you have appreciated her help over the years! I hired Chanika Svetvilas as the new Program Coordinator. She is an artist with a background in non-profit work at the American Museum of Natural History, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and with the Ohio Arts League.
While we send Chuck and Lisa off with our best wishes, we know they will continue to be a part of our organization. And take a moment to welcome our new employees RJ and Chanika as you see them around camp, at events, or at the office!
Regards,
Lindsey Christ, Executive Director
