March 30, 2017If you are visiting camp this spring you will notice continued construction in Egypt and the flats area. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. The boy’s side of Egypt is fully completed and the girl’s side is gutted and the plumbing is being installed. We are on schedule for completion of the girl’s side before camp but are still in need of funds to finish it and the laundry room and staff bathrooms. Any leads on additional funds would be appreciated.
The new garage in front of the pool house has staff housing above that is in the process of completion. The garage door is ready to be installed and the interior of the staff housing will be finished in time for summer use.
A much needed Welcome Center will be constructed this spring between the garage and the steps going up to the flag pole. This will be an open shelter house and used to do summer registration, include a room for camp store, and provide a shaded, dry shelter for program.
Some of the work on Lake Atagahi will be completed before summer. The dam has been fixed and bubblers installed. Some clearing and dredging will be done near the dam. The beavers have come through for us again by building a silt retention pond at the other end of the lake.
