Plein Air Art Workshop – for Adults Only!
July 12, 2020Camp Wyandot Praised in Media and by Health Department
July 22, 2020We have had a great beginning to a very challenging year at Camp Otonwe! The kids are definitely having fun, and camp is running smoothly. We are wearing masks when needed, washing up A LOT, and playing in the woods, creeking and learning outdoor skills, too.
We have a theme for each week, including one week of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) activities! Pictured here, we have a small group of campers (in their “bubble” with each other) making butter from cream. Another picture is of campers making apple volcanoes.
Our parents have been grateful to give their kids a break from screens and have had lots of praise for the careful health and sanitation procedures at camp. Having an open air camp with a highly ventilated barn for shelter has been a great home for us at the John Beltz Retreat Center, which we rent during the summer from Overbrook Presbyterian Church. The location is on the eastern banks of the Hoover Reservoir, on Harlem Road north of Center Village Road.
Camp has been full for all sessions.
