Camp Wyandot Inc.’s Conservation Easement Statement
December 15, 2025Born in Columbus, Ohio, Louise, known by her friends as Omie, attended Camp Wyandot, beginning in 1936, and later was a counselor. She graduated from North High School, and from the OSU College of Medicine. She and her husband, Jack Warner, were residents in anesthesia at Nationwide Children’s Hospital after which she practiced anesthesia for 25 years and was Director of Clinical Anesthesia Research for another 12 years.
But for those of us who knew her well, Louise was a champion of teaching children about the natural world, as she co-founded Stratford Ecological Center in 1991 in Delaware, with her husband Jack. The Stratford Center taught children about food and fiber farming and encouraged them to connect with the natural world – an emphasis that has similarities to our own mission at Camp Wyandot.
In 2OO1, she married Clyde Gosnell. Louise served on the Friends of the Hocking Hills State Park and was active in Appalachia Ohio Alliance Land Trust. Among her many awards, she and Clyde were inducted into the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Hall of Fame for their work on Route 664 at Old Mans Cave and the John Glen Astronomy Park.
Omie was loved and respected by many, we will miss our dear friend.
