We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! There has been a lot going on with Camp Wyandot, Inc. and hopefully you have had an opportunity to be part of it. If not, there is still time, Alumni Weekend is just around the corner and there is still time to register. Over the past year the Board has been working on strategic planning and we would like your input as we move forward. First, our mission has not changed:
“Camp Wyandot provides an inclusive, nurturing environment for youth to have fun, make friends, serve others, and explore the great outdoors.”
Second, as part of this process, the Board has established a vision statement. It is our vision that Camp Wyandot is:
“Providing transformative experiences by connecting youth with the natural world in a rustic group environment.”
Third, we have established our core values. At Camp Wyandot we value: quality experiences; the natural world; inclusiveness; positive youth development; integrity; service; responsibility; sustainability; our past, present, and future.
Finally, we have identified three pillars to focus on for long-term planning. These pillars for future planning include Financial (stability); Programming (resident and day camps and club programs) and Organizational (staff, volunteers, members and alumni). As part of programming we are looking for your input on the future of the club program and are holding a discussion session on August 16 at 6:30 at Columbus Metropolitan Library, Northside branch. This is your opportunity to provide input on what you would like the year-round group programming to look like for Camp Wyandot. Hope to see you there.
