In memory of Judy Johnson-Peterson
Judy Johnson-Peterson died November 22, 2022, at her home in Worthington. Judy, “Miss Judy,” served as our resident Camp Director for four years from 1962 to 1965. Judy succeeded Norma Dusi (Miss Pussy) as Camp Director and was followed by Connie Coutellier (Miss Luige). In 2010 we had just one item in our Silent Auction at the annual luncheon. Judy thought this could be expanded into a good fundraiser and volunteered to do so. She successfully managed the Silent Auction for many years.
After leaving Camp Fire Girls, Judy had a long career as regional director for CARE, Inc., an international humanitarian organization. She held leadership roles in many Columbus international events.
We are grateful to Miss Judy for her service to Camp Wyandot. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at the Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 North High Street, Worthington, OH, on Saturday, January 21, 2023. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with a service at noon.
